Here is a brief history of the Lambretta Clothing company and our involvement with them.

In 1997 we at Huckleberrys Menswear are proud to say we became the first stockist in the UK of the new Mod inspired Lambretta Clothing.

The owners of a well established menswear wholesale business called Dickens and Browne had been selling quality collections to the menswear trade for many years. They decided that it was time for something different and produced a small pilot range of Lambretta Jackets and Lambretta Shirts.

The Midland agent Tony McCarrick came into the shop one day and asked us what we thought of the range.

We immediately recognised that it had a lot of potential and with the Lambretta heritage behind it, decided to buy it there and then.

The next season the Lambretta Clothing Collection included, a Lambretta Fishtail Parker Jacket, Lambretta Jeans, Lambretta Jumpers, Lambretta Shirts and Lambretta Tee Shirts. It was a great hit in the shop and the rest they say is history.

For over 10 years now Lambretta Clothing have continued to produce collections that draw it’s inspirations from the early Mods in the 60’s, to the Mod Revival in the late 70’s, through to the modern day.

Style icons like Paul Weller, Stereophonics and TV presenter Vernon Kay have all worn Lambretta Clothing over the years.

Lambretta Promotions for this season include, advertising at Premier football grounds and England games and sponsoring new Indie/ Mod bands.

Lambretta Clothing epitomises for me the very ideals of what Modism is all about. Dressing in a way that is cool stylish and directional.

Every season Lambretta Clothing delve back into the archives for inspiration to produce a range that coincides with our own way of living and the things that mean the most to us. Fashion, Music and Sport.
